In the footsteps of the Jaguar
In the land of Oaxaca, where the roots of tradition are intertwined with a broad vision of the world, the spirit of Mezcal Mitre emerges, a symbol of the fusion between artisanal and contemporary lifestyle.
Mezcal Mitre embodies the fusion of traditional and artisanal Mexico with the contemporary and elegant. Rooted in the family tradition of our master mezcalero, Don Tacho, and his sons, Joel and Laurentino, Mitre originates in Santiago Matatlán, an Oaxacan municipality renowned as the World Capital of Mezcal.
Our bottle pays homage to the jaguar, the most emblematic feline of various pre-Hispanic cultures, symbolizing strength, status, and valor. Additionally, it adds an artistic touch to each of our mezcals, aiming to maintain excellence not only in the contents but also to transform each product into a collectible piece.
In 2015, we founded Mezcal Mitre with the vision of embodying the essence of our country in every bottle. Since then, we have challenged boundaries, becoming a brand that makes every moment unique. Each drop reflects our commitment to quality, bringing the authentic flavor of Mexico everywhere we go.
Our Process
The mezcal-making process begins with the careful selection of ripe agaves, followed by cooking in a volcanic stone oven with mezquite wood for 3 days. Next, they are crushed in a tahona to extract the must. Fermentation takes place in pine wood tanks, followed by distillation in copper stills and clay pots. Finally, each bottle is hand-bottled and labeled, meticulously caring for every detail of our iconic bottles.
